Ehtares

Building better defenses against everyday scams.

Scams are becoming more convincing. People shouldn't need to be cybersecurity experts to recognize a dangerous message.

Mission

Ehtares exists to make threat detection understandable and accessible. The people most targeted by SMS scams are the least served by security tools. Not because protection is impossible, but because it was built for someone else.

We started in Egypt, with the scams Egyptians actually receive: the fake bank alert written in perfect Egyptian Arabic, the delivery fee for a package that doesn't exist, the prize draw that needs “just a small transfer fee”. Ehtares is built for those messages, in those languages, at a standard anyone can trust.

Product philosophy

Explain, don't just block. A verdict that hides its reasoning teaches nothing; every Ehtares verdict shows the signals that fired, so users get sharper with every message.

Assistance over authority. Ehtares helps you decide. It never claims to decide for you.

Privacy philosophy

A scam filter that harvests your messages would be a strange kind of protection. Ehtares analyzes for protection, on-device by default, with network features opt-in, and the product is not built around selling user message data.

Where this is going

Today: SMS and message scams. Next: calls, URLs, QR codes, notifications, and social messaging: the same engine, extended to wherever scams arrive. The architecture was designed for that expansion from day one.
